Carpentry Services
Our goal at Duane Johnsen Carpentry is to provide you with high-end trim carpentry service to help you make your home or office an inviting, hospitable, comfortable and “uniquely you” place to be.
We can help you create the space and feel for each area of your home that you are wanting. We enjoy working with new construction, a room remodels or addressing the nagging repairs on your cabinetry and doors. We will get your creative ideas implemented whether you would like to add crown in your entry foyer, create a separate space in your home by installing a barn door between open rooms, or installing floating shelves to display your special family photographs.
We provide the following services: trim carpentry, mantles, doors, barn doors, closets, stairs, shelving, handrails, hardware, cabinets, and consulting.
Trim Carpentry
Build and install baseboard, crown, door trim, wainscot, chair rail, window trim, shiplap, and curved or straight handrails
Mantles
Build a new one or update/modify an existing one
Doors
Install new doors (with or without new jambs), repair existing doors, or build new custom doors
Barn Doors
Build and install barn doors, which are also known as “sliding surface mount doors”
Closets
Install personalized units, modify existing shelving, or install pre-built units
Stairs
Build new staircases, balustrade systems, or install new hardwood stair components on an existing staircase. The staircase can be a basic straight run or a curved/radiused run.
Shelving
Build and install “Floating shelves”, closet shelving, adjustable shelving, or increase the shelving in your pantry, storage closet or laundry room
Hardware
Install new kitchen knobs and door hardware. Tune up existing hardware.

Cabinets
Build stand-alone units, modify existing cabinets, install new cabinetry (single piece units like a bathroom vanity or multiple piece units such as a whole new kitchen), and implement unique built-in cabinetry units that are set in the exact location you have always wanted to have one.
Consulting
New Build
Before you begin your new construction we are happy to provide consultation since finish details drive the groundwork. So before the walls are framed, drywalled and painted, let us help guide you through some of the final trim details that will help determine locations for HVAC, doors, or light switches, saving time and money.
Remodeling
We will walk step by step through the project with you to keep you informed and will collaborate with you during the decision process on the many small details that arise to make the project unique and creative to reflect you!
Camp Consulting
Duane has worked on the facilities and properties of many residential camps and ministries including Trail West Young Life, HoneyRock of Wheaton College, Noah’s Ark, and Camp Elim and would love to work with your camp or ministry’s unique facility goals to further the mission and values of your organization.
